When a strainer takes in water summary stanza
The poem of joao.
Disclaimer: This is a poem I love as I was growing up as a child as it projects the African culture. And it's not written by me......but it's worth the share!
Do enjoy!
When a strainer π takes in water π§
All the water π§ immediately goes out of it
When a wicker fish π trap takes in water π§
All the water π§ immediately goes out of it
The drake cannot, even in a fit of anger π crow.
ΓwΓ wΓ cannot, even in a fit of anger, howl from dusk to dawn
On the day brown monkey π΅ meets the Alapinni, the monkey π΅ forgets all its anger
Oriji leaf commands you to forgive me, no matter what I may have done amiss
A blacksmith never knows what to forge with iron-dross
Let all those who are annoyed π΄ππ΄πwith me,
Let all those who have risen ππͺπ«π£against me,
Let them have no power over me.
Let their anger subside.
